Here’s Maggy, the yellow-billed magpie from my Maggypie story. I’m writing short stories for my sister’s 5th/6th grade class to read for my internship, and this was a super-quick illustration I sketched up. Normally Maggy carries a ribbon around, but it’s not pictured.
Maggy is a young magpie with a love for shiny things. She’s always looking for new things to add to her collection, and is rather protective of the pink ribbon she carries around constantly. Unfortunately she’s very easily-distracted, particularly if something shiny is around—she’ll wind up staring at it and forgetting everything else going on around her.
She’s very shy and self-conscious, and the fact that she has a fear of heights despite being a bird doesn’t help that much. But she’s still a nice bird, and is good friends with Awzzie and Splat.
